About WACEP

Wisconsin Chapter ACEP is one of 53 chapters chartered by the American College of Emergency Physicians. WACEP represents a diverse group of over 500 emergency physicians, residents and medical students including academicians, physicians in private practice, employed physicians, independent physicians and more. WACEP represents the principles of the emergency medicine specialty and acts as a unifying force for emergency physicians facing practice challenges in an environment of rapid change.


Purpose

Wisconsin ACEP serves Wisconsin's emergency physicians by:

  • Providing continuing medical education opportunities
  • Lobbying in state government and advocating on issues affecting the delivery of emergency medical care
  • Informing emergency physicians in Wisconsin about current and emerging issues affecting their profession

Mission

To support quality emergency medical care and to promote the interests of emergency physicians.

Goals

Wisconsin Chapter ACEP is committed to protecting the interests of emergency physicians, the specialty and patients. WACEP promotes policies that preserve the integrity and independence of the practice of emergency medicine, and supports emergency physician representation and involvement within healthcare organizations, academic institutions and governmental agencies.  WACEP represents the interest of all emergency physicians in Wisconsin.
